For a deeper understanding of what is going on in this world, I suggest we become symbolically literate.

The first image is a cross between the Sri Yantra of the tantric Sri Vidya tradition. The second image is the Devi Tripura Sundari of the same lineage. It is understood that she is the yantra. Perhaps this is the artist’s way of depicting that She is emanating, or projecting, out of it. Here are some books from my library that have helped me with symbolic literacy. A book I mentioned in this post is John Allegro’s Sacred Mushroom and the Cross.
